Nuevo Laredo social initiatives: CMIC donation and upcoming medical brigade
Mayor Carmen Lilia Canturosas Villarreal of Nuevo Laredo is preparing her second government report, emphasizing a governance style focused on direct community engagement and the recovery of public spaces.
In a collaborative effort to support vulnerable populations, the Mexican Chamber of the Construction Industry (CMIC) Tamaulipas has donated 1,684,839 pesos to Sistema DIF Nuevo Laredo. This contribution brings the historical total of donations from CMIC to the system to 5,911,771 pesos. The funds are intended to strengthen social programs and community actions.
Additionally, Sistema DIF Nuevo Laredo will host a free comprehensive care brigade for children and families on Friday, August 28. The event, held at the DIF facilities in Fraccionamiento Ojo Caliente, will offer medical consultations in specialties such as neurology, pediatrics, and dentistry. The brigade also includes psychological care, legal advice, low-cost eyewear, and a vaccination module supported by the Distrito de Salud para el Bienestar No. 5.
