Nuevo León Governor announces tax amnesty program
Nuevo León Governor Samuel García Sepúlveda has announced the creation of the ‘Ponte Nuevo, Ponte al Corriente’ program, a fiscal initiative designed to help citizens and businesses regularize their tax status. The program aims to condone, reduce, or eliminate state debts, fines, surcharges, and taxes.
Key components of the program include relief for payroll taxes, vehicle registration fees, and plate changes. Additionally, the Governor noted that water and drainage debts could be fully condoned if the base fee is paid. The initiative also extends to businesses facing open audits, tax credits, coercive collections, or frozen accounts.
Detailed information regarding the scheme is expected to be released on October 21. García Sepúlveda stated that this measure is part of the state's 2027 economic strategy, emphasizing that the upcoming budget will not include new taxes or increases. He has called upon the local Congress to support the 2027 budget to ensure these benefits can be implemented.
