Nuevo León to host major Mexican foreign trade congresses

Nuevo León will host the 32nd Mexican Foreign Trade Congress and the INDEX National Convention from late October 2026. These events aim to strengthen collaboration between the industrial export sector and government authorities amidst shifting geopolitical landscapes and the upcoming USMCA review.

According to the state Secretariat of Economy, Nuevo León reported $33.1 billion in exports during the first half of 2026. The state accounts for approximately 10 percent of Mexico's total exports and 12.7 percent of the national manufacturing GDP. The United States remains the primary destination for these goods, receiving roughly 88 percent of the state's exports.

To support this trade volume, the state is focusing on logistical infrastructure, specifically the La Gloria-Colombia highway and the Colombia-Laredo border crossing. The Colombia border port has seen significant revenue growth, ranking second nationally in Mexico.
