Transilvania A3 Highway Sections Near Completion in Romania
The Transilvania A3 motorway continues rapid progress. In the Bihor sector between Chiribiș and Biharia, daily paving works advance about 1.5 km, reaching roughly 15 km of the 28‑km stretch. A contract for the 32C Chiribiș‑Biharia section, worth 785.21 million lei and financed by external non‑repayable funds, was signed on 15 March 2024.
In the northern segment, the 12‑km stretch between Zimbor and the Poarta Sălajului junction has been fully constructed, with road surfaces, markings and safety barriers in place. The segment awaits acceptance by the highway authority before it can be opened to traffic, with officials targeting the end of the year for full operation.
Both sections are part of the broader effort to complete the Transilvania A3 corridor, aiming to improve connectivity across western and north‑western Romania.
