NUMUN project launches in Rabat to expand digital arts access
The 'NUMUN' project has been launched in Rabat, Morocco, to expand access to digital arts for young people. Running from 2026 to 2028, the initiative is supported by UNESCO’s International Fund for Cultural Diversity (FIDC) and implemented by the HIBA Foundation in collaboration with several partners, including the Institut Français du Maroc.
A central feature of the project is a mobile digital arts unit—a transformed bus serving as an immersive studio. This unit will travel to six neighborhoods in Rabat and three rural areas to reach populations with limited access to cultural infrastructure. The mobile unit will provide free access to interactive digital artworks, workshops, and professional training sessions designed to equip youth, particularly young women, with digital creative skills.
Beyond direct engagement, the project includes a research component to document and analyze digital medium usage. This data is intended to inform future cultural policies regarding the role of digital arts in society.
