Nuno Barros releases book on Câmara de Lobos traditions

Author Nuno Barros has released ‘A Gulosa do Ilhéu de Câmara de Lobos’, a book designed to preserve the collective memory and traditions of the Câmara de Lobos municipality. The work originated from stories Barros shared with students for over two decades.

Based on a folk tale about a fisherman, the narrative was adapted to include local characters, places, and references to the Ilhéu. The book, published by the Câmara Municipal de Câmara de Lobos and illustrated by Priscila Reis, aims to connect younger generations with the historical realities of the area and provide nostalgic reflections for older residents.
