Nuno Borges and Jaime Faria advance at Cincinnati Masters 1000

Portuguese tennis players Nuno Borges and Jaime Faria have achieved significant milestones at the ATP Masters 1000 in Cincinnati.

Nuno Borges, ranked 47th globally, reached the third round of the tournament for the first time in his career. He secured a decisive 6-4, 6-3 victory over Argentina’s Francisco Cerundolo in an 80-minute match. Borges is scheduled to face either Andrey Rublev or Pablo Carreño Busta in the next round.

Jaime Faria, ranked 79th, recorded his first career Masters 1000 victory by defeating American Jenson Brooksby 6-3, 6-2. Following his qualification through the qualifying rounds, Faria is set to face American Ben Shelton in the second round.
