Nuno Borges defeats Andrey Rublev to reach Cincinnati Masters round of 16

Portuguese tennis player Nuno Borges has qualified for the round of 16 at the Cincinnati Masters 1000 after defeating world number 18 Andrey Rublev. Borges, ranked 47th, won the match in straight sets, 6-3, 6-4, in a contest lasting one hour and 12 minutes.

This victory marks a significant achievement for Borges, who has reached the round of 16 in Masters 1000 tournaments twice this season, following a similar run in Montreal.

In other tournament action, American Taylor Fritz advanced to the round of 16 by defeating Daniel Melendez Pupare with a 6-3, 6-4 scoreline. Fritz is set to face Christopher O'Connell in the next round, following the withdrawal of Joao Fonseca. Additionally, tenth seed Lorenzo Musetti secured a victory over Michael Dunn.
