Nuno Homem de Sá faces renewed prosecution for domestic violence

In Portugal, the Public Ministry has renewed its request for the conviction of actor Nuno Homem de Sá for the crime of domestic violence against his former partner, Nádia Lopes. During final arguments, the prosecutor emphasized a discrepancy between the couple’s public social media presence and their private reality.

The defense for Lopes argued that it is natural for a victim to only find the courage to report abuse after a relationship has ended. Meanwhile, the defense for Homem de Sá has attempted to dismantle the prosecution’s case by highlighting contradictions in the victim's testimony and challenging the factual alterations presented by the court.
