Nuno Melo blames immigration policies for school enrollment delays

Nuno Melo, leader of the CDS-PP and Minister of Defense, has attributed delays in school enrollments to the previous Socialist Party (PS) government's immigration policies. Speaking at a party event in Albergaria-a-Velha, Melo stated that many students are being enrolled after classes have already commenced due to what he described as the uncontrolled migratory flows resulting from past decisions.

Melo also assigned responsibility to the Chega party, arguing that while the PS ignored the situation, Chega sought to perpetuate chaos. He specifically noted that Chega joined the PS in the previous legislature to block the creation of a border police force intended to control entries into the country.
