Nuno Ribeiro da Silva appointed head of ERSE Advisory Council
Nuno Ribeiro da Silva has been appointed as the president of the Advisory Council of the Energy Services Regulatory Authority (ERSE). The appointment was formalized through a dispatch signed by the Minister of Environment and Energy, Maria da Graça Carvalho, and published in the Diário da República.
The Advisory Council serves as a consultative body that assists ERSE in defining its general lines of action and supports the board of directors' deliberations. It issues non-binding opinions, formulates recommendations, and promotes work of interest to regulated sectors, representing various stakeholders including consumers, companies, and public entities.
Ribeiro da Silva brings extensive experience to the role, having previously served as Secretary of State for Energy between 1986 and 1991. His recent professional background includes roles as a territorial manager for Endesa Energia in Portugal and an administrator for Endesa Generación Portugal from 2005 to 2023, as well as an administrator for the Iberian Electricity Market (OMIP) until 2023. He is also a professor at ISEG.
