Nunspeet hosts second Walk into the Light suicide‑prevention event

On 8 September, Nunspeet organized the second sunrise Walk into the Light, a four‑kilometre walk beginning at 06:00 UTC+1 to promote openness, connection and recognition around suicide and its prevention. Participants walked in silence or conversation, reflected along the route, and concluded with a shared breakfast.

For the first time, the program was expanded with midday and evening activities. After the walk, a lunch was served at the community centre Bloezem, followed by creative workshops such as felt‑making, painting and writing. The evening programme included a communal dinner at DAC de Stee and further creative sessions. The free event required prior registration and was coordinated by Straathoekwerk Nunspeet, Bloezem, DAC de Stee, Nunspeet Voor Elkaar, the municipality of Nunspeet and the Stichting Suïcide Preventie Centrum, as part of World Suicide Prevention Week (7–13 September).
