Nuoro prepares for 126th Festa del Redentore in 2026

Nuoro is preparing for the 126th edition of the Festa del Redentore, scheduled to take place from August 22 to August 29, 2026. The week-long celebration combines religious devotion, folklore, and cultural tradition.

The festivities begin on Saturday, August 22, with ritual masks performing in Piazza Sardegna. On Sunday, August 23, the Cammino del Redentore will feature a procession of groups in traditional Sardinian attire, alongside a parade of riders and amazons starting from Piazza Italia. The city has implemented a new, longer route designed to enhance the solemnity of the event and better integrate the celebration with urban spaces.

The program concludes on Saturday, August 29, with a pilgrimage to Monte Ortobene. Local authorities have emphasized the importance of inclusivity, noting that dedicated areas will be provided for people with disabilities during the urban processions.
