Nuova Macelleria to close in Lecco after 26 years

The historic Nuova Macelleria in Lecco is scheduled to close its doors on August 29 after 26 years of operation under its current management. Owners Daniele Porcaro and Roberto Invernizzi, who took over the business in 2000, have decided to retire.

Located on Viale Turati, the shop served as a neighborhood staple, offering not only meat but also various gastronomic products such as polenta, vitello tonnato, and prepared dishes. The owners expressed gratitude to their customers, noting they have been “submerged with affection” during their final days. The closure is attributed to the owners reaching retirement age and the lack of a successor to ensure the business's continuity. This marks the second recent closure on Viale Turati, following the end of operations at Pastificio Emiliano.
