Nura targets Andreas Gabalier at Glücksgefühle-Festival

Rapper Nura sparked controversy at the Glücksgefühle-Festival at the Hockenheimring by launching a verbal attack against singer Andreas Gabalier and festival organizers. During her performance, Nura questioned why Gabalier was permitted to perform while the synth-pop band Alphaville had been uninvited due to frontman Marian Gold’s political stances against right-wing extremism.

Nura expressed her frustration by starting a rendition of Alphaville’s ‘Forever Young’ before demonstratively stopping it. She stated, “If you book me, you definitely don’t get an unpolitical show,” and directed several insults toward Gabalier.

While the festival organizers initially uninvited Alphaville following public criticism, the band ultimately declined a re-invitation and announced they would donate their fee. Gabalier, who has faced previous criticism regarding his views on tradition and gender roles, has not publicly responded to Nura’s comments, though he performed on the main stage later that same evening.
