Nurdağı mosque imam receives note and money from youths
In the Nurdağı district of Gaziantep, a group of young people gained local attention after charging their electric motorcycle at the Nurdağı Municipality Kuba Mosque. After receiving permission from the imam, Mahmut Arslan, the youths charged their vehicle and were instructed to ensure the mosque was locked upon departure.
The following morning, Imam Arslan discovered 45 TL and a handwritten note left by the group. The note expressed gratitude and requested forgiveness for any perceived slight, stating, “We left what our modest strength allowed. Please forgive us. Believers are but brothers,” citing the 10th verse of Surah Al-Hujurat.
Imam Arslan described the incident as an example of loyalty and solidarity, noting that mosques serve not only as places of worship but also as centers for sharing and mutual aid.
