NURDOR marks ‘Golden September’ to support children with cancer in Serbia

The National Association of Parents of Children with Cancer (NURDOR) is observing ‘Golden September,’ a month dedicated to supporting children and young people battling cancer. The initiative is being marked in approximately 30 cities across Serbia, including Niš and Loznica.

In Niš, humanitarian events held at King Milan Square aim to raise funds for psychosocial support for patients and their families. Volunteers are working to raise awareness about the association's services, which include psychological and pedagogical assistance. In Loznica, activities at the Vuk Dom Kulture focus on the importance of long-term support, including rehabilitation camps and assistance for parents who have lost children.

Beyond financial donations, the association emphasizes the importance of blood donation and registering as stem cell donors. NURDOR also provides practical aid, such as housing in Belgrade for children traveling from other regions for treatment, to ensure they do not have to travel long distances for therapy.
