Nuremberg Animal Shelter seeks homes for various animals

The Nuremberg Animal Shelter is seeking new homes for a variety of animals, including dogs, cats, rabbits, chinchillas, and pigeons. Among the animals in need is Rudi, a one-year-old herding dog mix found abandoned in a forest, who requires a calm environment without children due to his stress levels.

Other animals seeking adoption include Tino and Henni, five-month-old cats that need to be rehomed together in a quiet household. The shelter also reports older dogs, such as Balou, who requires medical attention for eye and dental issues, and Lucky, who is recovering from an illness.

In a separate appeal, the shelter highlighted the plight of stray cats after discovering five newborn kittens on a company premises, one of which had died. The facility reported that its emergency service is now called weekly for similar cases involving feral or abandoned cats. The shelter currently houses approximately 150 cats, many of whom are strays or animals from seizures, and is calling for increased responsible ownership and mandatory spaying and neutering to prevent uncontrolled breeding.
