Nuremberg police deploy mobile video surveillance at Aufseßplatz

The Middle Franconia Police Headquarters has expanded mobile video surveillance in Nuremberg by deploying a second video trailer at Aufseßplatz. This follows the implementation of similar surveillance at Nelson-Mandela-Platz.

The decision comes in response to an increase in reported crimes and public disturbances at Aufseßplatz, a highly frequented area in the city's southern district. Authorities identified excessive alcohol consumption as a primary driver of issues, including verbal abuse, disputes, and physical assaults that have harassed residents and local businesses.

This measure is part of the ‘Bayern 360° Sicherheit’ project. It complements an alcohol ban zone established in December 2025. The surveillance aims to detect security disturbances and criminal activities early, allowing for rapid police intervention and prosecution.
