Nuremberg traffic dispute leads to criminal charges
A dispute between a driver and a cyclist in Nuremberg resulted in multiple criminal investigations following an incident on Saturday evening. The confrontation began near the intersection of Regensburger Straße and Valznerweiherstraße when a 30-year-old Audi driver and a 40-year-old cyclist engaged in a verbal altercation.
During the encounter, the cyclist blocked the car with his bicycle, leading the driver to insult him. The driver then struck the cyclist's wheel with his vehicle, causing an injury to the cyclist's leg, before fleeing the scene.
Police located the driver shortly after the incident. Testing revealed a blood alcohol content of approximately 1.4 per mille and suspected influence from amphetamines. The driver faces charges including insult, negligent bodily harm, leaving the scene of an accident, and driving under the influence. The cyclist is also under investigation for suspected coercion.
