Nuremberg's Ludwigsplatz revamp adds Wempe and TK Maxx stores
The city of Nuremberg has completed a major redesign of Ludwigsplatz at the Weißen Turm, replacing worn concrete with barrier‑free granite, adding more greenery and modernising the public space. Luxury jeweller Wempe opened a new 600 m² boutique in the former Eckerle menswear location on 5 August, citing the area’s growing appeal and the city’s long‑standing retail importance.
Property owner Redevco is further transforming the adjacent C&A building. Off‑price retailer TK Maxx will occupy about 3,600 m² over two floors, with an opening scheduled for 20 August 2026. The new store is expected to increase foot traffic and complement existing retail anchors in Nuremberg’s city centre.
