Nuri rocket prepares for fifth launch with record 15 satellites
South Korea is preparing for the fifth launch of its Nuri rocket, scheduled for October 7 between 12:23 PM and 1:23 PM local time from the Naro Space Center in Goheung. The rocket has been successfully transported to the second launch pad and has completed vertical erection and connection procedures.
This mission is notable for carrying a record 15 satellites, the highest number for any Nuri flight to date. The payload includes five micro-constellation satellites (NeonSat 2–6) developed by KAIST for Earth observation and disaster response, as well as 10 CubeSats developed by various universities, local governments, and private companies. These CubeSats will test domestic components and technologies in space, including camera modules and batteries from LG.
For the first time, Hanwha Aerospace will participate directly in the launch control center operations. The mission aims to achieve a Sun-synchronous orbit at an altitude of approximately 500–600 km. A backup launch window has been established from October 8 to 14 in case of weather or technical delays.
