Nuri rocket secondary satellites successfully establish ground communication

The Korea Aerospace Administration and the Korea Aerospace Research Institute announced that nine of the ten secondary satellites launched aboard the fifth Nuri (KSLV-II) rocket have successfully established communication with ground stations.

While one satellite, Quaternion Purset-2, failed to deploy from its launch container, the remaining nine satellites have entered the initial inspection phase. Several satellites, including those from Spacelintech, KARI, Unmanned Exploration Research Institute, and Space & Bin, achieved two-way communication on the day of the launch. Other satellites, such as Chosun University’s space optical communication verification satellite and Daejeon-Sat 1, have also confirmed successful deployment and data transmission.

Officials noted that the time required to establish communication was significantly shorter than during the fourth launch. This improvement indicates that the Nuri launch vehicle has enhanced technical maturity, specifically in its ability to precisely inject satellites into target orbits and provide accurate positioning information.
