Nurmijärvi municipal board contests Klaukka health center lease termination

The Nurmijärvi municipal board met on August 24, 2026, to address several local administrative matters, most notably the situation regarding the Klaukka health center. The board is contesting a unilateral decision by the Central Uusimaa welfare area (Keusote) to terminate the lease for the Klaukka safety unit on Vaskomäentie 2.

Municipal board chairman Arto Hägg stated that the municipality believes the termination is based on incorrect information and lacks proper grounds. He expressed hope that the Keusote official would rescind the decision. A public meeting regarding the matter has been organized for August 26 at the Klaukka Youth Society Hall.

Additionally, the board processed the resignation of Leena Tuomisto from her positions as a deputy member of the audit committee and a member of the East Uusimaa Police negotiating committee due to her relocation. The board recommended that the council appoint Merja Lounela as the new deputy member of the audit committee and Anne Koskela to the police negotiating committee. Other discussion topics included future scenarios for Nurmijärven Kodit Oy and upcoming real estate developments.
