Nurse faces detention for alleged aggravated rape at Jönköping hospital

A male nurse is facing detention requests following allegations of aggravated rape against a patient at Länssjukhuset Ryhov in Jönköping. The incident occurred on August 8, involving a female patient receiving care at a medical clinic.

Prosecutor Frida Noldin stated that the suspect showed “particular ruthlessness or brutality” by allegedly committing the crime while the victim was in the final stages of life and unable to defend herself, further exploiting his professional position. Following the incident, the nurse reportedly left his workplace in a vehicle and crashed into a concrete foundation in Jönköping, sustaining minor injuries.

While the victim passed away shortly after the event, a preliminary assessment by the forensic pathologist suggests her death was due to her existing medical condition. The investigation is ongoing, involving witness interviews and technical analyses. There is currently no information suggesting the suspect committed similar crimes against other patients.
