Nurse faces murder charges in fatal 131 mph Los Angeles crash

A California nurse, Nicole Linton, is facing six murder charges following a high-speed collision in Windsor Hills on August 4, 2022. Prosecutors allege that Linton was driving her Mercedes-Benz at 131 mph when she ignored a red light at the intersection of La Brea and Slauson avenues, killing six people.

The victims include Asherey Ryan, who was eight months pregnant, her unborn child Armani, her 11-month-old son Alonzo Quintero, her boyfriend Reynold Lester, and two other individuals, Nathesia Lewis and Lynette Noble. The impact triggered a fireball near a gas station.

During court proceedings, testimony revealed that Linton made five video calls while driving moments before the crash. Her sister, Kimberly Linton, testified that Nicole was speaking “gibberish” and made bizarre claims, including stating she would marry Will Smith.

Linton has pleaded not guilty. Her defense team argues she was experiencing a mental health crisis and suffered a seizure that caused her to lose control. However, prosecutors noted that medical testimony indicated no evidence of a neurological episode prior to the crash.
