Nurses join Royal Flying Doctor Service fundraising challenge
Three nurses from Grampians Health Horsham—Zoe Green, Megan Tonissen, and Brydie Murphy—have formed a team called ‘Scrubs on the Run’ to participate in the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) ‘Oceans to Outback’ challenge.
The group aims to collectively walk and run 100 km to raise $1,000. The participants, who moved to the district for their graduate nursing year in 2025, stated that their involvement is driven by their firsthand experience with the challenges of providing quality healthcare in rural communities.
They intend to support the RFDS, an organization they note is vital for providing medical services, including emergency transfers and specialist visits, to people in remote areas who might otherwise struggle to access care.
