Nurses recognized with DAISY Awards for extraordinary care
Two registered nurses have been honored with the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses for their commitment to compassionate patient care.
Alli Beth Surrett of AdventHealth Redmond received the second-quarter 2026 award. She was recognized for her clinical care and advocacy for a Spanish-speaking patient. Her nomination highlighted her ability to provide reassurance during a stressful health change and her persistence in resolving medication issues with the pharmacy to ensure the patient's needs were met after discharge.
Andrea Langenfeld, an emergency room nurse at SSM Health St. Agnes Hospital, was also recognized with the award. A patient nominated Langenfeld for providing a calm and reassuring presence during a visit for severe facial pain. The nomination noted that Langenfeld treated the patient with dignity and helped alleviate anxiety throughout the diagnostic process.
