Nurses sue Kielce hospital for 10 million PLN in unpaid wages

More than 120 nurses and nurse practitioners are engaged in a group lawsuit against the Wojewódzki Szpital Zespolony in Kielce, seeking over 10 million PLN in unpaid wages and formal recognition of their qualifications.

The dispute stems from 2022 changes to regulations regarding minimum wages in medical facilities. Following these changes, hospital management reclassified staff with master's degrees and specializations into lower pay grades, despite no change in their professional duties.

While some staff members accepted a settlement involving a current pay raise in exchange for waiving past claims, others continue to pursue the full amount through the District Court in Kielce. Representatives for the plaintiffs state that the unpaid wages have accumulated over a four-year period.
