Nursind demands transparency over Battipaglia hospital partnership

The Nursind Salerno trade union is calling for greater transparency regarding a public-private partnership intended to reactivate the Nuclear Medicine department at the Santa Maria della Speranza hospital in Battipaglia.

The project has an estimated total value of 32.94 million euros, featuring an initial investment of approximately 6.38 million euros by the concessionaire under a ten-year agreement. The union has raised questions concerning the bidding process, noting that only one bidder, the Medipass–Morviducci grouping, participated, securing a score of 100 out of 100 with a 0.10% discount.

Biagio Tomasco, general secretary of Nursind Salerno, has requested access to economic and contractual documentation to understand how the economic convenience of the offer was verified. Additionally, the union highlighted discrepancies in projected healthcare needs, noting a drop from 15,616 annual services in 2024 documents to 6,769 in subsequent 2025 and 2026 provisions. Nursind is seeking clarification on the advantages of this partnership over direct public management and the protections provided for healthcare workers.
