Nursing professionals hold specialized meetings in Portugal and Brazil

In Portugal, the Unidade Local de Saúde da Lezíria (ULS Lezíria) hosted the 2nd Rehabilitation Nursing Meeting at the Santarém District Hospital. The event focused on specialized care to promote autonomy and quality of life, particularly in response to an aging population and the rise of chronic diseases. Discussions included pediatric and adult respiratory rehabilitation, spinal care, fall prevention, and standardized nursing records.

In Brazil, the Federal Nursing Council (Cofen) and the National Commission of Nursing Assistants and Technicians (CONATENF) met to discuss medication administration in pre-hospital care. The meeting addressed the role of nursing technicians in Basic Life Support Units (USB) for both land and water transport. The group is working on a draft resolution to establish technical parameters and legal limits to ensure patient safety and professional competence during emergency responses.
