Nursing technician arrested for morphine theft in Federal District
A 27-year-old nursing technician was arrested in the Federal District after being caught using morphine inside a health unit. The incident occurred at the São Sebastião Urgent Care Unit (UPA).
According to the Civil Police of the Federal District, the investigation began when the UPA coordination reported that the employee was improperly withdrawing morphine ampoules from the stock. The technician was allegedly responsible for administering ten ampoules to a patient but was instead caught using the medication in a bathroom.
Police recovered six intact ampoules during the approach, suggesting the individual had already used four. The suspect showed signs of being under the influence of narcotics at the time of arrest and has been charged with peculato, a crime involving the misappropriation of public assets by a government employee.
