Nusa Tenggara Barat addresses Gili Trawangan water crisis

The West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) provincial government is developing measures to resolve a clean water supply crisis in the Gili Trawangan area. The disruption has impacted both local residents and the tourism sector.

Governor Lalu Muhamad Iqbal stated that the government is coordinating with the central government to restore the water supply while addressing the underlying regulatory and legal issues causing the shutdown. Iqbal has requested discretionary space to allow the existing water network to operate temporarily as a transitional solution. The Ministry of Environment has expressed commitment to assisting in finding a resolution.
