Nusco officials demand end to leachate discharge to resolve odor emergency

In Nusco, local authorities are addressing a persistent odor emergency caused by the Contrada Fiorentine wastewater treatment plant. Mayor Antonio Iuliano has called for an immediate halt to the discharge of leachate into the F1 and F2 plants to resolve the issue that has affected residents for weeks.

Following a meeting convened by Prefect Franca Fico, officials from the Province, the municipality of Lioni, and regional representatives discussed the situation. A permanent coordination table will be established at the Nusco Town Hall to monitor the implementation of corrective measures and ensure public health protection.
