Nusron Wahid faces potential forced summons by KPK over bribery probe

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is considering a forced summons for Nusron Wahid, the Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/Head of the National Land Agency (ATR/BPN). The minister has reportedly failed to attend two scheduled examinations on October 7 and October 15 regarding an alleged bribery case involving the management of PT Summarecon's Building Use Rights (HGB) and other matters within the ministry.

Anti-corruption activists, including Boyamin Saiman of MAKI and Saor Siagian, have criticized the minister's previous claims of being cooperative, labeling them as deceptive. Activists are urging the KPK to issue a travel ban to prevent the minister from traveling abroad, noting reports that he may have traveled to Malaysia via Batam-Singapore during a scheduled examination date.

The investigation is significant, with the KPK having already named eight suspects and seized evidence valued at approximately Rp106 billion. KPK Acting Director of Investigation, Ahmad Taufik Husein, stated that the agency is weighing the forced summons in accordance with legal provisions.
