Nusron Wahid traveled to Malaysia and Singapore amid KPK summons
Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning, Nusron Wahid, traveled to Singapore and Malaysia last week, coinciding with a scheduled summons from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).
Boyamin Saiman, coordinator of the Indonesian Anti-Corruption Society (MAKI), alleged that Nusron traveled to Malaysia on a business trip without receiving official permission from President Prabowo. According to MAKI, the Minister traveled from Jakarta to Batam on Wednesday, then took a ferry to Singapore, and subsequently moved to Johor Bahru, Malaysia.
Director General of Immigration Hendarsam Marantoko confirmed that Nusron traveled to Singapore via Batam and visited Malaysia for official business. Marantoko denied allegations that the trip was an attempt to evade the KPK, stating that the travel was reported to immigration authorities. The KPK investigation continues to examine the use of funds, including allegations regarding personal or organizational use, following the seizure of Rp106.3 billion in cash.
