Nutanix expands AI operations with Enterprise AI 2.8 release
Nutanix has announced the general availability of Nutanix Enterprise AI (NAI) 2.8 and the upcoming release of Nutanix Kubernetes Platform (NKP) 2.19. The updates focus on a dual-native architecture designed to allow enterprises to manage AI workloads, containers, and virtual machines through a single control plane.
To address governance and security concerns in agentic AI, the new NAI 2.8 includes a Model Context Protocol (MCP) gateway. This feature enables organizations to control how AI agents access specific applications, tools, and data. Additionally, the update introduces cost-management tools that allow companies to monitor token usage and set spending limits at the user or agent level.
Technical enhancements include support for private inference with capabilities such as LoRA fine-tuning, multi-GPU inference, and speculative decoding, which can increase token-generation speeds by up to 2.5 times. Nutanix also introduced the ‘Powered by Nutanix: Verified Services’ program to assist partners in deploying these AI and cloud services.
