Nutanix expands enterprise AI and hybrid cloud capabilities

Nutanix has announced several infrastructure enhancements aimed at supporting enterprise AI and hybrid cloud environments. The company has released Nutanix Enterprise AI (NAI) 2.8, which provides a centralized platform for AI inference and agentic AI. This update includes a Model Context Protocol (MCP) Gateway to control how AI agents interact with enterprise data and tools, alongside enhanced private inference and fine-tuning capabilities designed to accelerate LLM token generation.

Additionally, Nutanix now supports the general availability of Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) Hybrid on the Nutanix AHV hypervisor. This deployment allows organizations to run AVD session hosts on-premises while utilizing Microsoft’s cloud-based control plane for identity and session brokering. This hybrid model is intended for regulated industries requiring greater control over data residency, security, and latency while maintaining an Azure-based management experience through Azure Arc.
