Nutanix launches tools to govern and secure agentic AI
Nutanix has announced the general availability of the Nutanix Agent Gateway and a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server for its Cloud Platform. These tools are designed to help enterprises manage, secure, and govern autonomous AI agents as they scale across hybrid and multicloud environments.
The Nutanix Agent Gateway acts as a centralized control layer between AI agents, large language models (LLMs), and enterprise tools. It provides capabilities such as managing agent access, enforcing security policies, monitoring activity, and tracking token consumption to help control AI-related costs. The solution offers consistent governance for both public cloud-hosted and self-hosted private models.
Complementing this, the open-source MCP server enables AI assistants—including GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, and Cursor—to interact with the Nutanix Cloud Platform via the Nutanix Prism v4 API. This allows users to translate natural-language requests into precise infrastructure API actions while automatically enforcing existing corporate security and access policies.
