Nutanix to cut 5% of global staff, about 400 jobs, by Oct 2026
Nutanix, a California‑based hyper‑convergence vendor, announced in a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission that it will reduce its worldwide workforce by five percent, roughly 400 employees, with the reduction to be substantially completed by the end of October 2026.
The company said the move is intended to simplify its organisation, improve operational efficiency and agility, and reallocate resources toward strategic priorities such as artificial‑intelligence, modern application platforms (including Nutanix Kubernetes Platform), external‑storage infrastructure modernisation and customer‑facing sales. Pre‑tax charges for the layoffs are estimated at $33 million to $43 million, primarily one‑time severance and termination benefits. Nutanix reported third‑quarter revenue of about $2.75 billion and employs roughly 8,000 people worldwide.
