Nutresa acquires Presto hamburger chain in Colombia

Grupo Nutresa has signed a purchase agreement to acquire Presto, Colombia’s first hamburger chain founded in 1981. The acquisition follows an order from the Superintendency of Companies to initiate judicial liquidation proceedings for Presto due to financial difficulties and failure to meet reorganization commitments.

The deal is expected to preserve approximately 700 jobs across 104 locations in 20 cities. Jaime Gilinski, president of Grupo Nutresa, noted that the brand is part of the country’s collective memory and history.
