Nutrition experts offer dietary strategies for liver health and energy management
Health experts provide dietary and lifestyle recommendations to manage liver health and combat fatigue during seasonal transitions.
Medical professional Iñigo Martín suggests that certain foods can help mitigate fatty liver symptoms and inflammation. He notes that consuming whole fruits, such as blueberries and Granny Smith apples, provides anthocyanins and pectin which assist the liver. He emphasizes that eating whole fruit is beneficial because the fiber allows the liver to process fructose gradually, unlike processed sugars which can cause significant strain.
Nutritionist Salena Sainz, founder of Naturae Nutrición, advises against relying heavily on caffeine to combat fatigue. She explains that while caffeine temporarily blocks adenosine to increase alertness, it does not replace the physiological need for sleep. To stabilize energy levels, Sainz recommends establishing regular meal schedules and prioritizing breakfasts rich in quality proteins and fiber rather than consuming coffee on an empty stomach.
