Nutritional guidance on vitamin timing and deficiency symptoms

Nutrition expert Kate Booker from Nutrition Geeks suggests that the timing of vitamin intake can optimize their benefits. B vitamins are best taken in the morning to help boost energy levels, while Vitamin C should be consumed in divided doses throughout the day to prevent excess being excreted. Vitamin D is recommended for midday consumption, aligning with when the body naturally produces it from sunlight. To aid relaxation and reduce anxiety, magnesium or ashwagandha are best taken before sleep.

Physical symptoms can also indicate specific nutrient deficiencies. For instance, eyelid twitching may signal a lack of Vitamin D, magnesium, or B12. Muscle cramps are often linked to low magnesium, potassium, or calcium levels. Bleeding gums may indicate a deficiency in Vitamin C or B12. While dietary adjustments through foods like salmon, seeds, nuts, and citrus fruits can help, medical consultation is advised to rule out more serious underlying conditions.
