Nutritionist discusses dietary impact on memory retention

Nutritionist Luis Alberto Zamora has highlighted the significant role that diet plays in maintaining cognitive function and memory. During a segment on the podcast Atrévete, Zamora explained that proper nutrition is essential for protecting and nourishing neurons to ensure they maintain a correct structure.

Key nutrients identified for supporting memory include Omega-3 (specifically DHA), choline, and antioxidants. Recommended food sources include blue fish such as sardines, salmon, and mackerel, as well as liver, eggs, chicken, and soy. Additionally, plant-based options like whole grains, fruits, vegetables, and nuts are beneficial, with blueberries, strawberries, and blackberries specifically noted for their high antioxidant content.

Beyond nutrition, the discussion noted that age and excessive digital screen time can also negatively impact concentration and memory.
