Nutritionists address common dietary myths and metabolism

Nutrition experts are addressing several common misconceptions regarding diet and metabolism. Nutritionist Diego Sívori notes that white rice is one of the easiest foods to digest, contrary to the belief that carbohydrates are difficult for the body to process. He suggests that white rice is preferable to whole grain for digestibility and warns that the primary issue with pasta and rice often stems from accompanying ingredients like cheeses, sauces, and sausages.

Sívori also identifies myths regarding foods that supposedly refresh the body, stating that ice cream, beer, and potato chips can actually increase body heat. He describes potato chips as highly addictive due to their combination of carbohydrates, fats, and texture.

In a separate discussion, nutritionist María Amaro addresses the myth that eating dinner causes weight gain. She explains that weight management is determined by the balance between caloric intake and expenditure rather than the specific time of day. While the body operates on biological clocks synchronized with light, there is no metabolic switch that automatically converts food into fat after a certain hour.
