Nutritionists recommend specific beverages for healthy aging

Nutritionists highlight that beverage choices play a significant role in healthy aging by providing essential nutrients for the brain, muscles, and other organs. While factors like sleep, stress, and physical activity are crucial, hydration and nutrient intake through drinks can further support a healthy lifespan.

Coffee is identified as a beneficial option. Research involving over 47,000 women suggests that regular coffee consumption is linked to a higher probability of healthy aging. This is attributed to antioxidants such as chlorogenic acids, which may help reduce cellular inflammation. Experts note that while caffeine can aid cognitive function, decaffeinated coffee also offers health benefits due to other bioactive compounds. However, consuming coffee late in the day should be avoided to prevent sleep disruption.

Green tea is also recommended due to its polyphenol content, specifically epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG). This compound is known for its antioxidant properties, which may support cellular health, brain function, heart health, and metabolism.
