nuwacom integrates open weight models as EU-sovereign AI alternative

German AI platform nuwacom has integrated several leading open weight models, including Kimi K3 from Moonshot AI, Deepseek V4, and GLM 5.2 from Z. AI, into its service offering.

These models are hosted entirely within the European Union, providing a cost-effective alternative to US-based AI providers and hyperscalers. According to nuwacom Co-CEO Sascha Böhr, the expansion aims to reduce strategic dependence on American companies while allowing businesses to maintain better control over AI infrastructure costs.

In addition to the new models, nuwacom utilizes a partnership with StackIT to offer AI infrastructure operated completely within Germany. The platform also includes security features such as a Privacy Mode designed to anonymize sensitive input data.
