nVent expands liquid cooling capacity in Minnesota, adding 200 jobs

nVent Electric is building a new manufacturing facility in Blaine, Minnesota to produce liquid‑cooling systems for AI and high‑performance computing data centers. The plant, covering roughly 120,000‑160,000 square feet, will double the company's liquid‑cooling production capacity and is expected to employ more than 200 workers. Production is slated to begin in 2026 with full output by early 2027.

The expansion responds to growing heat‑dissipation challenges in AI chips such as NVIDIA’s Blackwell platform, where liquid cooling can be thousands of times more efficient than air. Market analysts project the data‑center liquid‑cooling market to expand from $4 billion in 2026 to over $27 billion by 2033, driven by rising AI workloads and convergence with crypto‑mining operations.
