Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang predicts sustained memory demand through 2029

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang stated that a memory supply surplus is unlikely to occur before 2029. Speaking at the GTC Berlin conference, Huang emphasized that memory demand continues to grow, noting that High Bandwidth Memory (HBM) will remain essential for years to come.

Huang also highlighted Nvidia's integration of LPDDR—typically used in mobile devices—into data centers, claiming this approach achieves double the energy efficiency of existing market solutions.

These comments come amid market volatility for memory manufacturers such as SK Hynix, Samsung, and Micron. Recent investor concerns were fueled by reports suggesting a potential AI slowdown and a massive supply wave by 2029 that could trigger intense competition. Additionally, the emergence of new high-performance architectures from China's ChangXin Memory Technologies (CXMT) has raised questions regarding future market share distribution.
