Nvidia considers $10 billion investment in Anthropic IPO

Nvidia is considering a potential $10 billion investment in Anthropic’s planned initial public offering. The deal could raise as much as $100 billion and value the Claude developer at approximately $2 trillion, which would make it one of the largest equity listings in history.

Reports suggest Anthropic aims to complete the offering before the U.S. midterm elections in November. The proposed investment highlights a deep strategic link between the two companies; Anthropic is a major consumer of Nvidia hardware, having previously committed to $30 billion in Microsoft Azure capacity powered by Nvidia chips.

Anthropic’s valuation is supported by rapid revenue growth, with its annualized revenue run rate exceeding $65 billion by the end of July. While the potential investment could bolster confidence in the IPO, it has also drawn attention to the financial interconnectedness between chipmakers and AI developers.
